This policy explains what personal information Plain Sense Consulting (ABN 99 885 484 569, 90 Mitchell Street, Darwin City NT 0800) collects through plainsense.au, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can opt out. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Enquiries and booking requests. Your name, organisation, email, subject and message. The booking form also asks for your phone number, preferred date and time, and the consultation you want. We use this to reply to you and to arrange the call.
• Purchases. When you buy a publication, Stripe collects your name, email, billing details and card details on its own checkout page. Card details are entered on Stripe’s page, not on this site, and we never see or store them. Stripe tells us what you bought, the amount, your name, email, phone and billing address (where given), and whether the payment went through. We use this to deliver your download, send your tax invoice, keep our business records and help with any problems.
• Browsing and advertising data. When you visit, our hosting provider and the advertising tools below receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the ad or link that brought you here. See the next two sections.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

We use the Meta Pixel (from Meta Platforms, the owner of Facebook and Instagram) to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads to people who have visited the site. The pixel sets cookies (such as _fbp) and tells Meta when you view a page, view a publication, click Buy, complete a purchase (product, amount and order reference), or send our contact or booking form (a “lead” event, without the contents of your message).

We also use Meta’s Conversions API, which sends purchase information from our server to Meta after Stripe confirms a payment. It sends the product, the amount and currency, the order reference, the page address and a hashed (scrambled, one-way SHA-256) copy of your email address. Meta uses the hashed email to match the purchase to a Meta account, if there is one. We do not send your name, phone, address or card details to Meta.

Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing

We use Google Ads tags (gtag.js) to measure which ads lead to purchases and to show our ads to people who have visited the site (remarketing). Google may set cookies such as _gcl_aw and _gcl_au to remember that you arrived from an ad. When you click Buy, the tag records the product and price. When a purchase is confirmed, it records the amount, currency and order reference. Google may combine this with information it already holds about you under its own privacy policy.

Who we share information with

We use these service providers to run the site and the business:

• Stripe: payment processing.
• Meta: ad measurement and remarketing (Meta Pixel and Conversions API).
• Google: Google Ads measurement and remarketing, and the web fonts this site loads from Google Fonts.
• Resend: sends your form enquiries to our inbox, and sends buyers their tax invoice and download link.
• FormSubmit: a backup email relay used for form enquiries if Resend is unavailable, and for our internal sale notifications.
• Cloudflare: website hosting and security.
• Microsoft 365: our business email, where enquiries and order emails are kept.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Each provider’s own privacy policy applies to the information it handles. We do not sell contact lists or personal information.

How to opt out

• Google: turn off personalised ads in My Ad Center (Google Ad Settings).
• Meta: change your Meta ad preferences, including ads based on activity from other websites.
• Your browser: block or delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or use a content or tracking blocker. The site still works if you do, including checkout.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry records only as long as they are useful for the work. We keep purchase and tax invoice records for as long as Australian tax law requires. Contact us if you want an enquiry record deleted.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask a question about this policy, by contacting us through our contact form. If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
